One after another, women rose up saying, “Me Too!” as cases of sexual harassment and assault finally came to light, empowering them after years of forced deference to powerful men. The movement quickly spread around the world, encouraging women to expose more acts of gender-based sexual violence they have been enduring for years, especially in their places of work. With #MeToo, victims of harassment and assault have received much-needed support, leading to changes in laws and policies to better protect millions of women around the world.
